Aging – it’s something every woman has to face. The sooner you start taking preventative measures, the more gracefully the transition will occur. For all you 20-something’s, here are my 5 top tips for keeping your skin healthy and youthful:
1. Start young
You are never too young to start taking preventative measures to maintain the quality of your skin (and your health).
2. Stay out of the Sun
It took me a while to catch on to this one but laying out is one of the quickest ways to bring on aged skin. Ladies, wear sunscreen when out in the sun and whenever possible – wear a hat as well. At the very least, protect your face and décolletage. You will be glad you did when you don’t have fine lines appearing in your late 20s.
3. Cleanse your body regularly
A couple of great ways to do this include juice fasts or organic coffee enemas. In particular, you want to cleanse your intestinal tract so at the very least, give your body periods of temporary relief from foods which are very taxing on your digestive system such as wheat, dairy and fried foods.
4. Use anti-aging face wash
This is a preventative measure to be used for the long haul. Key things to look for in an anti-aging face wash include glycolic acid which helps to exfoliate dead surface skin cells and helps stimulate cellular turnover, and salicylic acid which helps to loosen sebum within the pores preventing future breakouts as well as smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. An anti-aging face wash that ticks all the boxes for me is Peter Thomas Roth’s Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel.
5. Stress less
Chronic stress damages your cells which hastens the aging process. Life isn’t always easy, the Bible says “cast all your anxieties on [God] because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Prayer and meditation on God’s word is a great way to bring peace to your spirit when stress arises. And for a stress-busting double whammy – pray while going for a run! It’s now been proven that exercise is one of the best ways to keep your body youthful.
Always remember: Grey hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life. Proverbs 16:31
